Technical testing is performed at stages 3 and 4 of the ECITB 4-stage route to competency model and consists of two elements – a knowledge test and a practical test.
Hydratight ECITB Technical Tests provide an effective way to verify that an individual can carry out critical mechanical joint integrity and on-site machining tasks safely, accurately, and to industry standard. Covering hand and hydraulic torque of flanges and clamp connectors, bolt tensioning of flanges, pipe cutting, weld preparation and precision joint face machining, each test combines an online knowledge test with a practical skills assessment. The candidate carries out the task under continuous observation by an ECITB-approved examiner and technical test certification is valid for 3 years.
